01 / 05Challenge

Trackers measure. Apps meditate. Selaveeta does both. Wellness, ritualised, not just instrumented.

Wellness apps sit in two camps and rarely cross over. One camp measures, pulse trackers, sleep graphs, mindfulness counters, and stops at the number. The other camp meditates, long audio libraries, breath timers, with no signal back from the body. Selaveeta needed to be both: the measurement utility and the meditation practice, in the same daily loop, without one feeling bolted onto the other.

The brief sketched a single home with four navigable spaces, sleep, healing, stress, and energy, each anchoring a meditation library. A camera-based pulse scan captures the body's signal in thirty seconds. Topic-driven readings give each session a title the user can choose. A streak engine carries the practice across the days life intervenes.

02 / 05Camera Pulse · rPPG

Thirty seconds of light becomes a body's diary. A signal the user already carries, surfaced as a daily reading.

The technical core is rPPG, remote photoplethysmography. The front camera captures thirty seconds of video while the user holds still inside an oval guide; the pipeline extracts subtle colour changes in the capillary beds, the same optical signal a hospital pulse oximeter uses, sampled through the lens. Lighting validation runs first; the analyser only starts once the face is steady and well-lit.

The result is a clinical-grade reading captured through a camera every modern smartphone already has, in a session shorter than a meditation breath cycle. The job of the product layer is to keep that intensity from feeling clinical. Status banding, a simple trend line, and a short explainer per metric turn the reading into something the user can actually feel listened to by.

03 / 05Build · Four Spaces

Four spaces. One rhythm. Sleep, healing, stress, energy, each its own room.

Four spaces, sleep, healing, stress, and energy, each carry their own meditation library, their own colour, and their own discovery axis. Sleep leans cool blue and surfaces evening tracks and wind-down breaths. Healing leans sage with longer-form audio. Stress leans amber with shorter sessions tuned for the working day. Energy leans saffron with brighter, faster cadences. The same player drives all four, with sleep timer, background play, and offline support behind the scenes.

The home lobby ties the four together, the morning surface, the user's name, three doors to walk through by day. The fourth door (sleep / night) sits beside them as the evening anchor. The space the user opens most quietly becomes the default, so the home always reflects the practice, not a static menu.

04 / 05Streaks & Topic Readings

Three taps choose a topic. By morning, the streak lives. A short letter the practice writes back to the practitioner.

The streak system is the engagement loop. Read the daily message, complete a pulse scan, meditate ten minutes, visit all the spaces, every day, the streak counter advances and the milestone badges accumulate (Bronze at 7, Silver at 14, Gold at 30, Platinum at 60, Diamond at 100). One streak-freeze per month carries the practice across the days life intervenes. Wheel-of-Fortune spins land on milestones, a physics carousel in the front, deterministic outcomes in the back.

Topic-driven readings sit alongside the streak. Three taps, Topic, Word, Object, feed an LLM call that braids the selections with the user's profile into a 200-word personal reading, surfaces a recommended meditation, and lets the user save the entry to their journal. The reading isn't a horoscope; it's a short letter the practice writes back to the practitioner.

05 / 05Lobby & Home

Lobby first. Everything else listens. Four spaces, the morning message, and the streak meter.

The home lobby is the surface the user opens first. The morning message lives at the top, the four spaces sit beneath it, and the day's quests collapse into a single streak meter beside them. The personalisation depth, daily messages, topic readings, streak rewards keyed to stated goals, is paid for in onboarding length, so we split the cost across a four-stage flow that each stage rewards the user for completing.

Identity comes first (passwordless across Apple, Google, and email-OTP), then self (date of birth, height, weight, the priors the pulse pipeline needs), then goals (mental, spiritual, physical), then the trial. By the time the user lands on the home for the first time, every surface already knows their name, their goals, and the space they should open.
